Venemergencia celebrates the canonization of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández with its Public Access Telemedicine Program

Caracas, October 9, 2025. – As part of the canonization of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández, who bridged the gap between science and humanity, Venemergencia announced the addition of a new “Social” section to its mobile app, available on the Play Store and App Store, which any Venezuelan can access for free.

This update strengthens the Public Access Telemedicine Program (TAP), a pioneering initiative launched in 2019 that offers 24-hour telephone medical guidance, providing immediate support for emergencies or health inquiries.

Through TAP, Venemergencia’s on-call doctors can assess symptoms, recommend initial treatments, or issue medical referrals, ensuring that everyone has timely access to professional medical guidance over the phone.

“We founded Venemergencia to give Venezuelans greater access to healthcare. Now that we have a consolidated system, we want to give more. Dr. José Gregorio Hernández taught us to unite science with humanity, and what better way to celebrate that than by extending that commitment to service to those who need it most,” said Dr. Andrés Simón González Silén, CEO of Venemergencia.

With this new feature of its app, Venemergencia reinforces its mission to bring medical care to those who need it most and to offer technological tools that expand access to healthcare throughout the country. The institution’s medical team remains committed to being “on call 24 hours a day,” always ready to answer “one more call.”

The organization invites all Venezuelans to download the “Venemergencia” app and take advantage of the free Public Access Telemedicine service, which can make a difference for those facing an emergency or simply needing immediate medical guidance.
