Venemergencia was founded in July 2004 by Drs. Andrés Simón González-Silén and Luis Enrique Velásquez Díaz, who met during their first year of medical school at the Vargas School of Medicine at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). During their hospital shifts, they recognized the importance of training ordinary citizens in first aid to save more lives, while distinguishing between urgent and emergency medical situations.
This vision would help reduce pressure on hospitals while ensuring that people received the right level of care. Recognizing the collapse of Venezuela’s healthcare system, they proposed an innovative solution: training first responders and bringing medical care directly to people’s homes, reviving the original spirit of medicine.
For more than 20 years, Venemergencia has supported members of major insurance plans through two core service areas: Venemergencia Health and Venemergencia Auto. Our purpose is simple: to make reliable care and assistance easier to access across Venezuela.
