Doctors from Venemergencia and Urgent Care are recognized by the El Hatillo City Council

El Hatillo, March 27, 2026 — The El Hatillo City Council, in a formal session presided over by Mayor Fernando Melena and City Council President Leonardo Canache, along with Councilman Omar Nowak, honored the leadership and medical staff of Venemergencia and Urgent Care for their contribution to healthcare services and the well-being of citizens. The ceremony, held in observance of Doctors’ Day, highlighted how technological innovation and efficient management have transformed healthcare in the country.

During the ceremony, Dr. Andrés Simón González-Silén, founding partner and executive director of Venemergencia, served as the keynote speaker for the session. At the event, both Dr. González-Silén and Dr. Luis Velásquez, chief operating officer, were honored with the El Hatillo Municipal Award, “Jesús Reggeti” Medical Sciences Award, for their outstanding work in training, management, and emergency care in the country.

In addition, the municipality recognized the contributions of key figures within the organization, presenting certificates of recognition to Dr. Kiyohara Real, medical manager of Venemergencia; Dr. Gretty Rojas, clinical services manager at Urgent Care; and Dr. Alejandro Loreto, representative of the Venemergencia Foundation team. These recognitions honor their dedication to service, unwavering ethics, and commitment to preserving patients’ lives.

In this regard, the mayor highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership with the institution, which has enabled El Hatillo to establish itself as a heart-safe zone. Thanks to this joint effort, the municipality’s Plaza Bolívar is equipped with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and staff trained by the Venemergencia Foundation to respond immediately to cardiac emergencies.

“Medicine must leave the doctor’s office to seek out the patient; true progress consists of measuring success by how many people we manage to keep healthy in their homes,” stated Dr. Andrés Simón González-Silén during his speech. “We seek a system where innovation and accessibility go hand in hand so that access to healthcare becomes a budgetary and operational reality.”

Finally, the event served to extend a greeting and recognition to all the medical staff working at the various Urgent Care and Venemergencia locations, reaffirming the commitment to continue bringing reliable healthcare to every corner of Venezuela.
