Barquisimeto, May 23, 2025.—Venemergencia, a leading primary healthcare provider in Venezuela, is opening its sixth urgent care center in the country, this time in the city of Barquisimeto, where Venemergencia’s local operational headquarters is also located.
The first Urgent Care location opened in Caracas in August 2023, and as of the end of April, the five locations have treated more than 31,500 patients, with a satisfaction rate measured by NPS of 97%. The wait time for care from arrival is less than 10 minutes, and the total visit duration is less than 2.5 hours. They already have two Urgent Care locations in Caracas (Torre Xerox and La Candelaria), one at the Concepto La Viña shopping center in Valencia, and others in Lechería and Maracaibo.
Additionally, they have managed to reduce the average cost of emergency care by a factor of five (x5). This is an effective and rapid healthcare option available to members of the country’s leading insurance companies, making Venemergencia a reliable and robust partner that ensures the smooth operation of the healthcare system based on a value-based care model.
Dr. Andrés Simón González Silén, CEO of Venemergencia, described the work of this 100% Venezuelan company in the healthcare sector as a testament to the fact that “nothing extraordinary is achieved alone; we have been building solutions together for 20 years now, with the exceptional team and trusted partners, to provide Venezuelans with reliable healthcare options, with a human focus and social impact. "Opening the sixth Urgent Care location demonstrates our ability to execute and our willingness to invest in our country, and doing so in Barquisimeto is truly special."
For his part, Dr. Luis Enrique Velásquez, Director of Operations at Venemergencia, noted that 25% of the cases treated at Urgent Care facilities have been trauma-related, followed by acute viral syndrome and lower respiratory infections, and specified that 92% of the cases treated were resolved without needing referral to a hospital ER. "This is more than a business model; it is the realization of our purpose: to provide more and better access to healthcare for Venezuelans. Giving this option to the residents of Barquisimeto and nearby towns fills us with pride.
The inauguration was moderated by María Laura García, a journalist specializing in health coverage, and was attended by journalists, local business leaders, and prominent doctors from Barquisimeto; it was preceded by several meetings with insurance brokers. The event featured a special performance by a group of musicians from the Jacinto Lara nucleus of El Sistema, who delighted attendees with their music. This was part of the institutional partnership between the Venemergencia Foundation and El Sistema.
The next Venemergencia Urgent Care location will open in September in Maracay, Aragua state, and a network of partners is also being established to expand the reach of this value-based care model to more cities across the country.
