Urgent Care Model Comes to Lechería
Venemergencia, a leading primary healthcare provider in Venezuela, opened its fourth urgent care center in the country, this time in the city of Lechería, alongside the launch of Venemergencia’s operational headquarters in that location.
The first Urgent Care facility opened in Caracas in August 2023, and as of October 2024, it has treated more than 10,000 patients, with a satisfaction rate measured by NPS of 96%. The wait time for care from arrival is less than 10 minutes, and the total stay is less than 2.5 hours. They already have two Urgent Care locations in Caracas (Torre Xerox and La Candelaria) and one at the Concepto La Viña shopping center in Valencia.
Additionally, they have managed to reduce the average cost of emergency care by a factor of five (x5). This is an effective and rapid healthcare option available to members of the country’s leading insurance companies, making Venemergencia a reliable and robust partner that ensures the smooth operation of the healthcare system within that framework.
Dr. Andrés Simón González-Silén, CEO of Venemergencia, described the work of this 100% Venezuelan company in the healthcare sector as a testament to the fact that “nothing extraordinary is achieved alone; we have been building solutions together for 20 years now, with the exceptional team and trusted partners, to provide Venezuelans with reliable healthcare options, with a human focus and social impact. “Opening our fourth location in a year demonstrates our ability to execute and our willingness to invest in our country.”
González-Silén told the press that they are also in talks with local government to finalize the donation of at least two automated external defibrillators in public spaces throughout the city to include Lechería in the expansion of cardioprotected zones in Venezuela: “Bringing healthcare to people is what makes us get up earlier and go to bed later; we want more and better access to healthcare for all Venezuelans—that is our vision for the country, and we work tirelessly toward that goal,” he stated.
For his part, Dr. Luis Enrique Velásquez, Director of Operations at Venemergencia, noted that 25% of the cases treated in the Urgent Care rooms were trauma-related, followed by acute viral syndrome and lower respiratory infections, and specified that 92% of the cases treated were resolved without needing referral to a hospital ER. “This is more than a business model; it is the realization of our purpose: greater and better access to healthcare for Venezuelans. Giving this alternative option to the residents of Puerto La Cruz—one of the most dynamic economic hubs in our country—fills us with pride,” said Velásquez.
Venemergencia’s next Urgent Care locations will open between late 2024 and 2025 in Maracaibo, Zulia state; Maracay, Aragua state; and Barquisimeto, Lara state.
