Model Urgent Care Center Opens in Maracaibo
Venemergencia, a leading primary care provider in Venezuela, opened its fifth urgent care center in the country, this time in the city of Maracaibo, where Venemergencia’s local operations headquarters is also located.
The first Urgent Care facility opened in Caracas in August 2023, and as of the end of October 2024, the four locations have treated more than 12,000 patients with a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 96%. The wait time for care from arrival is less than 10 minutes, and the total stay is less than 2.5 hours. They already have two Urgent Care locations in Caracas (Torre Xerox and La Candelaria), one at the Concepto La Viña shopping center in Valencia, and another in Lechería.
Additionally, they have managed to reduce the average cost of emergency care by a factor of five (x5). This is an effective and rapid healthcare option available to members of the country’s leading insurance companies, making Venemergencia a reliable and robust partner that ensures the smooth operation of the healthcare system within that framework.
Dr. Andrés Simón González-Silén, CEO of Venemergencia, described the work of this 100% Venezuelan company in the healthcare sector as a testament to the fact that “nothing extraordinary is achieved alone; we have been building solutions together for 20 years now, with the exceptional team and trusted partners, to provide Venezuelans with reliable healthcare options, with a human focus and social impact. “Opening our fifth location in a year demonstrates our ability to execute and our willingness to invest in our country, and doing so on Zulia soil is truly special.”
For his part, Dr. Luis Enrique Velásquez, Director of Operations at Venemergencia, highlighted that 25% of the cases treated in the Urgent Care centers have been trauma cases, followed by acute viral syndrome and lower respiratory infections, and noted that 92% of the cases treated were resolved without needing referral to a hospital ER. “This is more than a business model; it is the realization of our purpose: greater and better access to healthcare for Venezuelans. Providing this option to the residents of Maracaibo and nearby towns fills us with pride. Our team includes 26 doctors who graduated from the University of Zulia, in addition to the rest of the Zulia-based team, who work with great dedication and enthusiasm,” Velásquez noted.
The next Venemergencia Urgent Care locations will open in 2025 in Maracay, Aragua state, and in Barquisimeto, Lara state.
