With strategic support from partners such as CAF and Yummy, the organization coordinates national and international efforts by integrating helicopter transport, ground ambulances, and admission to healthcare facilities.
La Guaira, Venezuela. – In response to the need for emergency medical care and risk mitigation in the coastal region, Venemergencia has announced the expansion and consolidation of its helitactics operation in La Guaira. This initiative is based on the establishment of an aeromedical and medical care coordination role to centralize and optimize rescue resources in the area through a framework of inter-institutional and international cooperation.
Thanks to the support of partners such as the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) and the funds raised by Yummy users, Venemergencia has been able to extend the scope of this service through Sunday, July 5. The primary objective is to make its entire logistical infrastructure—particularly its fleet of helicopters—fully available to rescue workers, healthcare teams, and law enforcement agencies actively operating on the ground.
A Comprehensive Operational Network Across Three Geographic Hubs
Venemergencia AIR’s logistics plan establishes key liaison and monitoring points strategically distributed to provide full coverage of the region affected by the earthquakes: Caraballeda, Macuto, and Playa Grande.
Venemergencia has coordinated the following aspects of emergency response in La Guaira:
- Aeromedical Evacuations: Critical transport of patients and injured individuals in high-speed medical helicopters to safe areas.
- Supply Logistics: Priority transportation and distribution of medical supplies via airlifts (by helicopter) from secondary collection centers.
- Ground Transportation Management: Coordination and dispatch of ground ambulances to complement air transfers.
- Health Facility Location and Management: Real-time monitoring of bed and resource availability at hospitals, clinics, and medical care sites to ensure efficient patient triage.
Rescue Worker Support and International Cooperation
Recognizing the heroic efforts of those who risk their lives on the ground, Venemergencia Air has established a Rescue Personnel Management division (Health Teams) that guarantees on-site medical care for rescue personnel themselves, in addition to centralizing and uniformly processing requests for both national and international rescue units from the various countries that have come to provide humanitarian aid to Venezuela.
